Web 2.0 คือยุดที่มีการสื่อสารสามารถทำได้ทั้งสองทิศทาง ทั้งจากผู้นำเสนอ และบุคคลทั่วไปที่สนใจ หรือ Dynamic Web ซึ่งทำให้ผู้อ่านหรือผู้สนใจสามารถแสดงความคิดเห็นได้ สามารถที่จะสร้างเนื้อหาหรือ content ชนิดต่างๆ ได้
Web 3.0 เป็นยุด " Data about Data " คือการใช้ข้อมูลอธิบายหรือบอกรายละเอียดของข้อมูล หรือ METADATA หรือ Semantic web แหล่งข้อมูล
