เทคโนโลยีห้องสมุด และ Library 2.0

แนวคิด Library 2.0 เกิดจากความแพร่หลายของเทคโนโลยี Web 2.0 ซึ่งเปลี่ยนแบบการเข้าถึงสารสนเทศของผู้ใช้ จากเดิมทำให้ผู้ใช้เข้าถึงสารสนเทศเอง แต่ปรับรูปแบบให้สารสนเทศไปถึงผู้ใช้ โดยผู้ใช้สารสนเทศไม่ต้องร้องขอ ซึ่งจะทำให้การเข้าใช้สารสนเทศห้องสมุดแพร่หลายและถึงผู้ใช้ตามความสนใจได้รวดเร็วยิ่งขึ้น การใช้แนวคิด Library 2.0 จึงเป็นการปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบเว็บไซต์ห้องสมุด ซึ่งเป็นรูปแบบการนำเสนอเว็บไซต์แบบเดิม

แนวคิดของ Library 2.0 จะเกิดขึ้น เมื่อห้องสมุดมีฐานข้อมูลทรัพยากรห้องสมุดแล้ว ซึ่งเรียกว่า Library Catalog โดยการใช้โปรแกรมระบบห้องสมุดอัตโนมัติ การใช้ OPAC เดิม สามารถเพิ่มการใช้งานให้ใช้กับ RSS feed เพื่อให้ผู้ใช้ดึงข้อมูลจาก Subject นั้นมาแสดงผลในเว็บของผู้ใช้แต่ละคนเองได้

ภาวะโลกร้อน
นักวิทยาศาสตร์กว่า 2,000 คน และผู้แทนจาก 120 ประเทศได้ประชุมปรึกษาหารือกันว่าด้วยเรื่องโลกร้อน ที่กรุงบรัสเซลล์เป็นระยะตลอดปี 2550 เมื่อต้นเดือนเมษายน ที่ประชุมได้ออกรายงานมาสองฉบับ หลังจากที่ใช้เวลานานพอสมควรถกเถียงกันในปัญหาเรื่อง “คำ” ระหว่างนักวิทยาศาสตร์ชั้นนำของโลกซึงเป็นผู้ร่างรายงานและผู้แทนอื่น เพราะนักวิทยาศาสตร์ได้ศึกษาข้อมูลไว้มากมาย และต้องการใส่ทั้งหมดไว้ในรายงานเพื่อเน้นให้เห็นถึงภัยอันตรายในอนาคตจากภาวะโลกร้อนที่โลกจะเผชิญ แต่ผู้แทนอื่นเห็นว่า ถ้าใส่ทุกอย่างหมดตามที่นักวิทยาศาสตร์ต้องการ คงต้องขยายแผนที่โลกให้ใหญ่ขึ้นจะได้ใส่ทุกอย่างลงไปได้ ที่ประชุมใช้เวลาอย่างมากเรียกว่าแทบจะดูกันทุกบันทัดใน “รายงานสรุปสำหรับผู้บริหาร” 21 หน้า เพื่อส่งไปให้คณะมนตรีความมั่นคงสหประชาชาติ ในที่สุดสองฝ่ายก็ประนีประนอมกันได้ในจุดหนึ่ง ในขณะที่นักวิทยาศาสตร์อีกหลายคนยังไม่ค่อยพอใจ
ในรายงานฉบับเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ 2550 เป็นการสรุปถึงสาเหตุที่ทำให้โลกร้อนขึ้น ส่วนรายงานฉบับเดือนเมษายน 2550 พูดถึงว่า แล้วเราจะทำอย่างไรต่อไปกับโลกที่ร้อนขึ้น แต่ทั้งสองรายงานมีประเด็นสำคัญอยู่ที่ทุกฝ่ายยอมรับว่า “มีความเป็นไปได้สูงมาก” ที่บรรยากาศของโลกร้อนขึ้น ระดับน้ำทะเลสูงขึ้น และภูเขาน้ำแข็งกับหิมะละลายกว้างขวางมากขึ้น รายงานสรุปว่า ทั้งหมดเป็นฝีมือของมนุษย์ที่สร้างควันพิษสู่ชั้นบรรยากาศ ทำให้โลกร้อนขึ้นทั้งกลางวันและกลางคืน มีคลื่นความร้อนมากกว่าก่อน มีฝนตกหนักกว่าก่อน มีภัยแล้งเพิ่มขึ้นและขยายกว้างขวางในหลายพื้นที่ มีพายุไซโคลนมากขึ้น ระดับน้ำทะเลสูงขึ้น โลกร้อนขึ้นส่งผลกระทบต่อคนพัน ๆล้านคน
รายงานสรุปด้วยว่า ถ้าสภาวะเรือนกระจกเช่นนี้ยังดำเนินต่อไปในระดับปัจจุบัน จะก่อให้บรรยากาศของโลกเปลี่ยนไปในคริสตศตวรรษที่ 21 มากกว่าศตวรรษก่อน คาดกันว่าใน พ.ศ. 2553 บรรยากาศของโลกจะร้อนขึ้นอีก 1.8 ถึง 4 องศาเซลเชียส แม้เราจะช่วยกันทำให้สภาวะเรือนกระจกอยู่ในระดับเดิม แต่โลกจะยังร้อนต่อไปอีกหลายศตวรรษ (http://www.the-thainews.com/analized/inter/int010550_12.htm)
