Course Description: A study of the current state of information technology and development of study skills for higher education, in terms of the use of computer, electronic library, Internet in the information superhighway.
Prerequisite: -
Objectives: the primary objective of this course is to develop students who are aware of the complex nature of the information environment, and who can skillfully navigate their way through the information technology environment. This course will allow students :
1. to be able to identify information they need;
2. to be able to critically evaluate information they find;
3. to be able to organize information they find; and
4. to be able to use information effectively.

ห้องสมุด 2.0 : Library 2.0
แนวคิด Library 2.0 เกิดจากความแพร่หลายของเทคโนโลยี Web 2.0 เช่นเดียวกับแนวคิด Business 2.0 ซึ่งปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบการเข้าถึงสารสนเทศของผู้ใช้จากเดิม ที่ผู้ใช้เข้าถึงสารสนเทศจากOPAC(Online Public Access Catalog) แต่ปรับรูปแบบให้สารสนเทศไปถึงผู้ใช้ โดยผู้ใช้สารสนเทศกำหนดรูปแบบสารสนเทศที่ต้องการเองโดยไม่ต้องร้องขอ โดยใช้โปรแกรม Blog, RSS feed, My Space, google และอื่นๆ ซึ่งจะทำให้การเข้าใช้สารสนเทศห้องสมุดใน OPAC(Online Public Access Catalog หรือ iPAC แพร่หลายและถึงผู้ใช้ตามความสนใจได้รวดเร็วยิ่งขึ้น กล่าวได้ว่าการใช้แนวคิด Library 2.0 จึงเป็นการปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบเว็บไซต์ห้องสมุด ซึ่งเป็นรูปแบบการนำเสนอเว็บไซต์แบบเดิมในการใช้อินเทอร์เน็ตยุคที่ 1 หรือ Web 1.0
ความหมายของ ห้องสมุด 2.0 คือโปรแกรมของเทคโนโลยีเว็บที่เป็นการสื่อสารสองทาง เป็นมัลติมีเดียและเป็นความร่วมมือกันระหว่างผู้ใช้งานกับบริการและทรัพยากรห้องสมุดผ่านเทคโนโลยีเว็บ เป็นชุมชนใหม่ของผู้ใช้ห้องสมุด (“Library 2.0” is “the application of interactive, collaborative, and multi-media web-based technologies to web-based library services and collections,” and suggests this definition be adopted by the library science community.Library2.0 )

เทคโนโลยีห้องสมุด และ Library 2.0

ภาวะโลกร้อน
นักวิทยาศาสตร์กว่า 2,000 คน และผู้แทนจาก 120 ประเทศได้ประชุมปรึกษาหารือกันว่าด้วยเรื่องโลกร้อน ที่กรุงบรัสเซลล์เป็นระยะตลอดปี 2550 เมื่อต้นเดือนเมษายน ที่ประชุมได้ออกรายงานมาสองฉบับ หลังจากที่ใช้เวลานานพอสมควรถกเถียงกันในปัญหาเรื่อง “คำ” ระหว่างนักวิทยาศาสตร์ชั้นนำของโลกซึงเป็นผู้ร่างรายงานและผู้แทนอื่น เพราะนักวิทยาศาสตร์ได้ศึกษาข้อมูลไว้มากมาย และต้องการใส่ทั้งหมดไว้ในรายงานเพื่อเน้นให้เห็นถึงภัยอันตรายในอนาคตจากภาวะโลกร้อนที่โลกจะเผชิญ แต่ผู้แทนอื่นเห็นว่า ถ้าใส่ทุกอย่างหมดตามที่นักวิทยาศาสตร์ต้องการ คงต้องขยายแผนที่โลกให้ใหญ่ขึ้นจะได้ใส่ทุกอย่างลงไปได้ ที่ประชุมใช้เวลาอย่างมากเรียกว่าแทบจะดูกันทุกบันทัดใน “รายงานสรุปสำหรับผู้บริหาร” 21 หน้า เพื่อส่งไปให้คณะมนตรีความมั่นคงสหประชาชาติ ในที่สุดสองฝ่ายก็ประนีประนอมกันได้ในจุดหนึ่ง ในขณะที่นักวิทยาศาสตร์อีกหลายคนยังไม่ค่อยพอใจ

รายงานสรุปด้วยว่า ถ้าสภาวะเรือนกระจกเช่นนี้ยังดำเนินต่อไปในระดับปัจจุบัน จะก่อให้บรรยากาศของโลกเปลี่ยนไปในคริสตศตวรรษที่ 21 มากกว่าศตวรรษก่อน คาดกันว่าใน พ.ศ. 2553 บรรยากาศของโลกจะร้อนขึ้นอีก 1.8 ถึง 4 องศาเซลเชียส แม้เราจะช่วยกันทำให้สภาวะเรือนกระจกอยู่ในระดับเดิม แต่โลกจะยังร้อนต่อไปอีกหลายศตวรรษ (http://www.the-thainews.com/analized/inter/int010550_12.htm)

นักวิทยาศาสตร์กว่า 2,000 คน และผู้แทนจาก 120 ประเทศได้ประชุมปรึกษาหารือกันว่าด้วยเรื่องโลกร้อน ที่กรุงบรัสเซลล์เป็นระยะตลอดปี 2550 เมื่อต้นเดือนเมษายน ที่ประชุมได้ออกรายงานมาสองฉบับ หลังจากที่ใช้เวลานานพอสมควรถกเถียงกันในปัญหาเรื่อง “คำ” ระหว่างนักวิทยาศาสตร์ชั้นนำของโลกซึงเป็นผู้ร่างรายงานและผู้แทนอื่น เพราะนักวิทยาศาสตร์ได้ศึกษาข้อมูลไว้มากมาย และต้องการใส่ทั้งหมดไว้ในรายงานเพื่อเน้นให้เห็นถึงภัยอันตรายในอนาคตจากภาวะโลกร้อนที่โลกจะเผชิญ แต่ผู้แทนอื่นเห็นว่า ถ้าใส่ทุกอย่างหมดตามที่นักวิทยาศาสตร์ต้องการ คงต้องขยายแผนที่โลกให้ใหญ่ขึ้นจะได้ใส่ทุกอย่างลงไปได้ ที่ประชุมใช้เวลาอย่างมากเรียกว่าแทบจะดูกันทุกบันทัดใน “รายงานสรุปสำหรับผู้บริหาร” 21 หน้า เพื่อส่งไปให้คณะมนตรีความมั่นคงสหประชาชาติ ในที่สุดสองฝ่ายก็ประนีประนอมกันได้ในจุดหนึ่ง ในขณะที่นักวิทยาศาสตร์อีกหลายคนยังไม่ค่อยพอใจ
ในรายงานฉบับเดือนกุมภาพันธ์ 2550 เป็นการสรุปถึงสาเหตุที่ทำให้โลกร้อนขึ้น ส่วนรายงานฉบับเดือนเมษายน 2550 พูดถึงว่า แล้วเราจะทำอย่างไรต่อไปกับโลกที่ร้อนขึ้น แต่ทั้งสองรายงานมีประเด็นสำคัญอยู่ที่ทุกฝ่ายยอมรับว่า “มีความเป็นไปได้สูงมาก” ที่บรรยากาศของโลกร้อนขึ้น ระดับน้ำทะเลสูงขึ้น และภูเขาน้ำแข็งกับหิมะละลายกว้างขวางมากขึ้น รายงานสรุปว่า ทั้งหมดเป็นฝีมือของมนุษย์ที่สร้างควันพิษสู่ชั้นบรรยากาศ ทำให้โลกร้อนขึ้นทั้งกลางวันและกลางคืน มีคลื่นความร้อนมากกว่าก่อน มีฝนตกหนักกว่าก่อน มีภัยแล้งเพิ่มขึ้นและขยายกว้างขวางในหลายพื้นที่ มีพายุไซโคลนมากขึ้น ระดับน้ำทะเลสูงขึ้น โลกร้อนขึ้นส่งผลกระทบต่อคนพัน ๆล้านคน
รายงานสรุปด้วยว่า ถ้าสภาวะเรือนกระจกเช่นนี้ยังดำเนินต่อไปในระดับปัจจุบัน จะก่อให้บรรยากาศของโลกเปลี่ยนไปในคริสตศตวรรษที่ 21 มากกว่าศตวรรษก่อน คาดกันว่าใน พ.ศ. 2553 บรรยากาศของโลกจะร้อนขึ้นอีก 1.8 ถึง 4 องศาเซลเชียส แม้เราจะช่วยกันทำให้สภาวะเรือนกระจกอยู่ในระดับเดิม แต่โลกจะยังร้อนต่อไปอีกหลายศตวรรษ (http://www.the-thainews.com/analized/inter/int010550_12.htm)
